Attorney Kelly Krapf Serving the State of Illinois

Attorney Kelly Krapf serves the state of Illinois as an appellate prosecutor for the third district, where she represents Illinois citizens on criminal and civil appeals. As part of her work, she reviews and drafts motions and provides guidance on evidentiary and procedural matters. Kelly Krapf also analyzes complex factual and legal issues and conducts extensive research.

Prior to beginning her legal career, Ms. Krapf spent more than a decade in television as an anchor and reporter for networks in Chicago, San Diego, Las Vegas, and Buffalo, New York. Her work included coverage of President Obama, President George W. Bush, President Clinton, wildfires in Southern California, the California recall election, and numerous military homecomings. She also anchored unfolding coverage of the 9/11 attacks.

Kelly Krapf later held the roles of director of communications and assistant budget director for the Illinois Governor’s office, where she led communications strategy, served as key spokesperson for the governor, and worked on legislative initiatives, and budget negotiations. Ms. Krapf earned a juris doctor from the University of Notre Dame Law School, where she served as a mediator in the school’s Applied Mediation Clinic and traveled to Appalachia to help provide legal services to low income residents in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky. She later worked as an assistant state's attorney.
